"Snow woman" story and music

The premiere performance of "Snow Woman" (story by Lafcadio Hearn, music by Naoko Matsushita) is coming soon!

Details from here>

The story is mysterious and beautiful.... I just love Hearn's sense of spirituality.

The music will be performed by flute, piano, strings. It would be lovely. I am very much looking forward to it!!

japanese meals-tempura, soba

I think Japanese meals are getting very popular nowadays! In Australia, we can buy Sushi just around the corner...

When I moved to Australia, it wasn't like this at all. Once I was asked, "What do you eat???actually???"

Well, I love all sorts of Japanese dishes, but I love Tempura...Should be fresh and crispy...

And Soba!! (buckwheat noodles) This is a picuture when I went to Izumo this year. Izumo soba is very famous for its taste. It was very delicious of course.

Dry noodles are probably available at supermarkets, but I do recommend the fresh ones!!

Kojo no tsuki - what a powerful music!!

Kojo no tsuki is very beautiful, well-known piece I think. Kojo means ruined castle, tsuki is the moon, so "Kojo no tsuki" actually means "The moon over the ruined castle. " It has very clear and vivid images.

This was my grandmother's favorite. Actually, I played this tune for her funeral. Unforgettable memory.

I can't help thinking this music has a very strong and strage power. I never ever forget what I experienced before. I was playing on the stage, and the venue was very wide space.(like a department store) People come and go, always crowded.

As soon as I started to play this, people actually "STOP" moving!! Yes, it is true. They physically stop their movements. I think they listened the tune, felt something, and the "something" made them frozen!!

Anyway, everytime I play this melody, I always experience the kind of "power".

Recently, I made an album which is called, "Very Japanese".

If you are interested, please go tohere to just listen or to buy MP3 file.

Music sheet of this particular original arrangement can be purchased in here!

you can use paypal from here.

Hope you will enjoy the sound of "Very Japanese" which has a huge and strange power within.
